Sunday, May 31st, 2009

Everyone eventually gets some wrinkles and lines but the amount of wrinkles and lines is something that we do have some control over. Here are some basic tips on anti-aging care for your skin that will help diminish the tell tale signs of aging

Avoid getting too much sun exposure

Too much ultraviolet light from the sun’s rays are harmful to skin and a prime cause of aging. Prematurely aged skin including liver spots and wrinkles are some of the long-term effects of tanning. They also stand a greater chance of skin cancer.

A Younger Looking You

Saturday, May 30th, 2009

Do you wake up every morning dreading looking in the mirror because you look “old”? Why not wake up to a relaxing full-body stretch and smile. Staying youthful means examining your values which are attributed to being “old”. Examples of such are being “no fun”, “unfashionable”, “irritable” and “weak” and turning them around.

Remember when you were a younger? When the world seemed to lack boundaries and when rules are made to be broken? Feel that rush. I am not suggesting you become a criminal. It’s just that when we get older, our priorities become tweaked. Readjust them again and insert some fun into it. Eat ice cream or have french fries once in a while!

Can Tanning be healthy?

Ohio legislators want to tighten the restrictions on minors in tanning beds. Why? Well here’s some quick stats:

Long-term exposure to artificial sources of ultraviolet rays from uv bulbs in tanning beds (or to the sun’s natural rays) increases both men and women’s risk of developing skin cancer. In addition, exposure to tanning salon rays increases damage caused by sunlight because ultraviolet light actually thins the skin, making it less able to heal. Another fact is that UVA rays that are emitted from the Ultraviolet A light sources in tanning salons are two to three times more powerful than the UVA rays which occur naturally from the sun. Ladies, who use tanning beds weekly or more, are 55 percent more likely to form malignant melanoma, the most deadly form of skin cancer.
